The Hokuyo UXM-30LX-EW scanning laser rangefinder is an industrial-type device for outdoor robotic and area monitoring applications. This model uses Ethernet interface for communication and can obtain measurement data in a 190º field of view up to a distance of 30 meters. It offers a superior detection of dark (black) colored objects with no effect on measurement due to dust or condensation on the lens cover. To ensure reliable measurement results in adverse conditions such as rain, fog, snow, or dusty environments, this device uses multi-echo technology for detection. It allows for receiving multiple reflected waves per transmitted laser pulse in order to obtain usable measurement data. The result is very reliable object detection in all weather conditions.

The main specifications are: supply voltage 10-30 V, measurement distance 30 m, field view 190°, interface Ethernet and multi-echo support.

The main feature is: protection rating IP67.

The related device UXM-30LXH-EWA (Hi-Tough) has similar characteristics, but a build-in heater for cold environments and a finer angular resolution (0.125°).
